Pasta and Sauce

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Fettuccine

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Alfredo Sauce

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.

  3. 3

    Finish the Sauce

Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  4. 4

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce and toss to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes over low heat to heat through.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley if desired. Optional: Add grilled chicken, sautéed shrimp, or steamed broccoli.
