Shrimp and Battering

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the White Dog Sauce

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, minced garlic, hot sauce, salt, black pepper, and dried dill. Mix well and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Shrimp

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs and mix with buttermilk.

  3. 3

    Batter the Shrimp

Dip each shrimp into the egg and buttermilk mixture, then coat them in the flour mixture. Shake off excess flour.

  4. 4

    Fry the Shrimp

In a heavy pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Serve

Toss the fried shrimp in the white dog sauce before serving. Enjoy!
