Fries Ingredients

Method

Fries Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch wide.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes into a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 3

    Dry the Potatoes

Drain the water and pat the potatoes dry with a clean towel to remove any moisture.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the dried potato strips to the hot oil in batches, frying them for about 5-7 minutes or until they are golden brown.

  6. 6

    Drain and Season

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries from the oil and drain them on paper towels. While they are still hot, sprinkle with salt, pepper, and paprika to taste.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the fries immediately while they're hot and crispy.
