Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Confit Garlic Aioli

  1. 1

    Confit Garlic

In a small pot, combine garlic cloves and olive oil. Cook over low heat for about 45 minutes until garlic is soft and caramelized. Let cool, then mash the garlic and mix with mayonnaise and lemon juice to create the aioli.

Cook the Mushroom Blend

  1. 2

    Sauté Mushrooms

In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent. Add sliced mushrooms and thyme; cook until mushrooms are golden and all moisture has evaporated. Set aside.

Make the Burger Patties

  1. 3

    Form and Cook Patties

In a bowl, mix ground beef, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 4 equal patties. Grill or pan-fry over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 4

    Build the Burger

Toast brioche buns if desired. Spread a generous amount of confit garlic aioli on the bottom half of each bun. Place the cheeseburger patty on top, followed by a scoop of the mushroom blend, a handful of arugula, and a crispy onion ring. Top with the other half of the bun.
