Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Mushroom Caps

Clean the mushroom caps with a damp cloth and remove the stems. Set the caps aside.

  3. 3

    Cook the Filling

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant. Add sweet Italian sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned. Stir in diced sweet bell pepper and hot pepper. Cook until peppers are soft.

  4. 4

    Mix the Filling

In a bowl, combine the sausage mixture with cream cheese, half of the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and fresh parsley. Mix until well combined.

  5. 5

    Stuff the Mushrooms

Spoon the filling into each mushroom cap, pressing it down gently. Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet.

  6. 6

    Add Toppings

Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese over the stuffed mushrooms.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the tops are golden brown.

  8. 8

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with additional fresh parsley if desired.
