In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

Add Tomatoes
Add the plum tomatoes to the skillet, crushing them with a spoon if using whole tomatoes. Stir and let simmer for about 10-15 minutes.

Season the Sauce
Stir in the chopped basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Cook the Pasta
While the sauce is simmering, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to combine, ensuring the pasta is well coated.

Serve the marinara pasta hot, topped with grated Romano cheese and additional fresh herbs if desired.
