Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Flatten the chicken breasts to an even thickness by pounding them between two sheets of plastic wrap. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
- 2
Breading the Chicken
Set up a breading station: Place flour in one shallow dish, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third. Dredge each piece of chicken in flour, dip into the eggs, and coat in breadcrumbs.
- 3
Frying the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- 4
Assemble the Dish
In a baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce. Place the fried chicken on top of the sauce, then add more marinara on top of each piece. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese generously over the chicken.
- 5
Bake
Transfer the baking dish to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- 6
Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
