Tiramisu Directions
- 1
Prepare the Coffee
Brew the espresso coffee and let it cool. If using, mix in the coffee liqueur.
- 2
Make the Cream Mixture
In a mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks and granulated sugar until thick and pale. Add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- 3
Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
- 4
Assemble the Tiramisu
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom of a serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- 5
Repeat the Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone mixture, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 6
Chill and Serve
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
