Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the prime striploin steak dry with paper towels. Rub olive oil over the steak and season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Shoestring Fries Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin, shoestring-sized strips.

  2. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the potato strips in batches and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.
