Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Whipped Potatoes

In a pot, boil the chopped potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and return to the pot. Add butter, salt, and black pepper, and mash until smooth. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Spinach

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add spinach and cook until wilted. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from skillet and keep warm.

  3. 3

    Make the Puttanesca Sauce

In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and heat over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant. Stir in diced tomatoes, olives, capers, red pepper flakes, and basil. Simmer for about 10 minutes until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. 4

    Cook the Swordfish and Shrimp

In another skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Season swordfish steaks with salt and pepper, then sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked through. Remove and keep warm. In the same skillet, add shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque.

  5. 5

    Plate the Dish

On each plate, serve a portion of whipped potatoes, topped with sautéed spinach, swordfish, and shrimp. Spoon the puttanesca sauce over the top and garnish with additional basil if desired.
