Creamed Spinach Ingredients
Method
Creamed Spinach Directions
- 1
Prepare the Spinach
Wash the fresh spinach thoroughly and remove any tough stems. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and blanch the spinach for about 2 minutes. Drain and immediately transfer the spinach to an ice bath to stop the cooking. Once cooled, drain again and squeeze out excess water.
- 2
Sauté Garlic
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Add the blanched spinach to the skillet with the garlic. Stir to combine, then pour in the heavy cream. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, allowing the cream to reduce slightly.
- 4
Add Cheese and Season
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Mix well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and the mixture is creamy.
- 5
Serve
Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Serve warm as a side dish.
