Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Turmeric Rice

In a pot, combine 2 cups of water with 1 cup of rice, and add 1 tsp of turmeric. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until the rice is cooked.

  2. 2

    Blacken the Chicken

Season the chicken fillet with spices for blackening (paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, salt, and pepper). Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add a little oil, and cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side until cooked through and blackened.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Lime Sour Cream

In a small bowl, mix the sour cream with lime juice and a pinch of salt. Stir until smooth.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Bowl

In a large bowl, layer the turmeric rice, followed by the black beans, roasted corn, blackened chicken, and cheddar cheese. Top with guacamole, sambal, crispy jalapeños, and a drizzle of lime sour cream.
