Momo Filling
Method
Momo Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped cilantro, crushed timur, salt, black pepper, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- 2
Make the Dough
In another bowl, mix 2 cups of all-purpose flour with a pinch of salt. Gradually add water and knead until you have a smooth, pliable dough. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- 3
Shape the Momos
Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin circle. Place a spoonful of the chicken filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
- 4
Steam the Momos
Place the momos in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper. Steam over boiling water for about 15-20 minutes until the dough is translucent and the filling is cooked through.
- 5
Serve
Serve the timur momo hot with dipping sauce or chutney of your choice.
