Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a large bowl, combine the finely chopped cabbage, grated carrot, chopped onion, green peas, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Make the Dough

In another bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt. Gradually add water while kneading until a smooth and soft dough forms. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Form the Momos

Divide the dough into small balls. Roll out each ball into a small circle, about 4 inches in diameter. Place a tablespoon of the vegetable filling in the center of each circle. Fold the edges over the filling and pinch to seal, forming a pleated shape.

  4. 4

    Steam the Momos

Place the momos in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper. Steam over boiling water for about 15-20 minutes or until the dough is cooked through and translucent.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove the momos from the steamer and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
