Momos
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, mix all-purpose flour with a pinch of salt. Gradually add water while kneading until a smooth dough forms. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- 2
Make the Filling
In another bowl, combine ground chicken, minced ginger, garlic, chopped onion, soy sauce, coriander leaves, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until thoroughly combined.
- 3
Form the Momos
Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin circle. Place a spoonful of the chicken filling in the center, then fold and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
- 4
Steam the Momos
Arrange the momos in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper. Steam over boiling water for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- 5
Prepare Jhol Sauce
In a saucepan, combine remaining water, soy sauce, and any leftover filling. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-10 minutes. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
- 6
Serve
Serve the hot momos drizzled with the jhol sauce and enjoy!
