Preparation

Cooking Instructions

1. Prepare Oysters

Shuck the fresh oysters and place them on a plate, making sure to keep the liquid inside each shell.

2. Make Breading Station

In one bowl, combine flour, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.

3. Coat Oysters

Dip each oyster into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with cornmeal.

4. Heat Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

5. Fry Oysters

Carefully add the coated oysters to the hot oil in batches. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

6. Serve

Serve the fried oysters hot with lemon wedges and tartar sauce on the side.
