Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the crust

In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Form the crust

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to create an even layer. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.

Filling Preparation

  1. 3

    Mix the filling

In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue to beat until well combined.

  2. 4

    Add remaining ingredients

Add the taro puree, sour cream, eggs (one at a time), and vanilla extract. Mix until all ingredients are fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth.

  3. 5

    Combine with crust

Pour the filling over the cooled crust in the springform pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.

Baking and Cooling

  1. 6

    Bake the cheesecake

Bake the cheesecake in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for 55-60 minutes, or until the center is set and slightly jiggly.

  2. 7

    Cool the cheesecake

Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside for 1 hour. Then, remove from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Serving

  1. 8

    Prepare the topping

Before serving, top the cheesecake with whipped cream and sprinkle with grated taro for decoration.

  2. 9

    Slice and serve

Slice the cheesecake and serve chilled. Enjoy your delicious Taro Cheese Cake!
