Method

Cooking Snow Crab

  1. 1

    Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Add Snow Crab Legs

Once the water is boiling, carefully add the fresh snow crab legs to the pot.

  3. 3

    Cook the Crab

Cover the pot and let the crab cook for about 5-7 minutes until heated through. The crab is usually pre-cooked, so this is just to warm it up.

  4. 4

    Remove and Drain

Using tongs, carefully remove the crab legs from the pot and place them on a serving platter. Let them drain for a minute.

Preparing Cajun Seasoning

  1. 5

    Mix Seasoning

In a small bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 6

    Season the Crab

Sprinkle the Cajun seasoning generously over the cooked crab legs, ensuring an even coating.

Optional Dipping Sauce

  1. 7

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt 1 cup of butter.

  2. 8

    Add Lemon Juice and Garlic

Once the butter is melted, stir in 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and the minced garlic. Allow it to simmer for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 9

    Serve with Crab

Serve the melted garlic butter as a dipping sauce alongside the seasoned snow crab legs.
