Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil the Pasta

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt to the boiling water.

  2. 2

    Cook the Linguine

Add the linguine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Drain and Set Aside

Once cooked, drain the pasta and reserve about 1 cup of the pasta water. Set the pasta aside.

Shrimp and Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Sauté the Garlic

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  2. 5

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque.

  3. 6

    Season the Shrimp

Add red pepper flakes, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine and cook for another minute.

  4. 7

    Combine with Pasta

Add the cooked linguine to the skillet, tossing it with the shrimp and sauce. If the dish seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water to loosen it up.

  5. 8

    Finish with Parsley

Stir in chopped parsley for freshness and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Serve the shrimp garlic noodles hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.

  2. 10

    Garnish

Garnish with additional parsley and a squeeze of lemon if desired.
