- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a small bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast in warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- 2
- 3
Combine Mixtures
Pour the yeast mixture and the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- 4
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 5
Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- 6
Shape the Donuts
After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thick. Use a donut cutter to cut out the donuts.
- 7
Second Rise
Place the cut donuts on a floured baking sheet and cover with a cloth. Let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Heat Oil
In a deep pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
