Method
Preparation of Seafood
- 1
Clean and Prepare Seafood
Rinse the crawfish, shrimp, and clams under cold water to remove any debris. Ensure the clams are closed; if any are open, tap them gently. Discard any that do not close.
Cooking Seafood
- 2
Boil the Seafood
In a large pot, fill with enough water to cover the seafood. Bring the water to a boil and add the Old Bay seasoning, salt, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder. Once the water is boiling, add the crawfish, shrimp, and clams.
- 3
Cooking Time
Boil the seafood for about 5-7 minutes or until the shrimp are pink, the crawfish are bright red, and the clams have opened. Remove the pot from heat and let it sit for a few minutes.
Preparing Sides
- 4
Cook the Sides
While the seafood is boiling, prepare your chosen sides. You can boil the potatoes and corn in a separate pot until tender, or you can grill the corn. For coleslaw, mix pre-shredded cabbage and carrots with coleslaw dressing. If using garlic bread, slice the loaf and toast it in the oven.
Serving
- 5
Plate and Serve
Once the seafood and sides are ready, drain the seafood and serve it on a large platter. Add the sides of corn, potatoes, coleslaw, garlic bread, or rice. Drizzle with lemon juice for added flavor.
