Method
Prepare the Burger Patty
- 1
Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.
Cook the Mushrooms
- 3
Grill the Burgers
- 4
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- 5
Cook the Patties
Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of Swiss cheese on each one, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers reach your desired doneness.
Assemble the Burger
- 6
Prepare the Buns
Toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
- 7
Build the Burger
On the bottom half of each bun, spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise. Add the lettuce leaves, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and a slice of tomato. Top with ketchup and mustard to taste, and finish with the top half of the bun.
