Buns

Method

Cooking the Patties

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and black pepper until well combined. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape into round patties, approximately 5 oz each.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each patty and cover the skillet or grill with a lid. Allow the cheese to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 4

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster, if desired.

  2. 5

    Add Toppings

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place a leaf of lettuce on top of the mayonnaise, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese.

  3. 6

    Finish the Burger

Add a slice of tomato on top of the cheese. Place the top half of the bun over the toppings and gently press down.
