Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bacon

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until they are crispy. Remove from skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

  2. 2

    Cook the Brisket

If using pre-smoked brisket, slice it into thin pieces. If it's not cooked, smoke it on low heat until tender, then slice.

  3. 3

    Form the Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into three equal patties, making them slightly larger than the buns as they will shrink while cooking.

  4. 4

    Grill the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the hamburger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, add a layer of lettuce, a slice of tomato, a beef patty with melted cheese, some crispy bacon, a generous portion of smoked brisket, pickles, and barbecue sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the Heart Attack Burger immediately with your choice of fries or onion rings.
