Burger Preparation
- 1
Make the Patty
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, brisket, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.
- 2
Prepare the Onion Rings
Peel the onion and slice it into rings. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Dip each onion ring in batter (if you want crispy rings, you can coat them in flour or a batter mix) and fry until golden brown on both sides. Remove and let drain on paper towels.
- 3
Cook the Patties
Preheat a grill or frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of American cheese on top of each patty. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place the cooked patty on top, add a generous drizzle of BBQ sauce, and top with crispy onion rings. Finish with the top half of the bun.
