Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Gai Lan

Rinse the gai lan thoroughly under cold water and trim the ends of the stems. Cut the gai lan into 2-3 inch pieces.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves.

  3. 3

    Heat the Wok

In a wok or large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  4. 4

    Cook the Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the hot oil and stir-fry for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant and lightly golden.

  5. 5

    Add the Gai Lan

Add the gai lan pieces to the wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.

  6. 6

    Season the Dish

Pour the soy sauce and sesame oil over the gai lan, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Toss to combine.

  7. 7

    Serve

Transfer the wok gai lan to a serving dish and enjoy immediately.
