Prepare the Cake
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the boiling water until smooth.

Bake the Cake
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Make the Banana Buttercream
In a large bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Add the mashed bananas and mix until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating until fluffy and well combined.

Assemble the Cake
Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of banana buttercream on top, then place the second layer on top.

Add Caramel and Peanuts
Drizzle caramel sauce over the top of the cake and sprinkle with chopped peanuts.
