Instructions
Prepare the Beans
Soak the navy beans in water overnight. Drain and rinse before cooking.
Cook the Beans
In a large pot, combine the soaked beans and 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the beans are tender, about 1 hour. Drain and set aside.
Sauté the Vegetables
In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and diced red bell pepper. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Combine Ingredients
Add the cooked beans, smoked brisket, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir until well combined.
Bake the Beans
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes, until bubbly and slightly caramelized on top.
Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your baked beans!
