Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Broth

In a saucepan, heat the chicken or vegetable broth. Add saffron threads and let them steep on low heat.

  2. 2

    Sauté Onions and Garlic

In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute.

  3. 3

    Toast the Rice

Add Arborio rice to the skillet and stir to coat the grains in the oil and butter. Toast for about 2 minutes, until the rice is slightly translucent.

  4. 4

    Deglaze with Wine

Pour in the dry white wine and stir until it has mostly evaporated, about 2-3 minutes.

  5. 5

    Add Broth Gradually

Start adding the warm saffron-infused broth to the rice, one ladleful at a time, stirring frequently. Wait until the liquid is absorbed before adding the next ladle. Continue this process for about 18-20 minutes until the rice is creamy and al dente.

  6. 6

    Finish with Butter and Cheese

Once the rice is cooked, remove from heat. Stir in the remaining butter and grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve hot, optionally garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and a drizzle of olive oil.
