Method
Ham Preparation
Prepare the Ham
Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Place the bone-in ham in a large roasting pan, cut side down.
Make the Glaze
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the Dr. Pepper, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, and ground cloves. Stir until the brown sugar is dissolved. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes, until slightly thickened.
Glaze the Ham
Brush the glaze generously over the ham. Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for about 1.5 to 2 hours, basting every 30 minutes with the remaining glaze, until heated through.
Mashed Potatoes Preparation
Mash the Potatoes
Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.
Add Cheese and Bacon
Stir in the shredded Cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and sliced scallions until well combined. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.
Smoky Bacon Green Beans Preparation
Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.
Sauté the Green Beans
Add the green beans to the skillet and sauté in the bacon fat for about 5-7 minutes, until tender but still crisp.
