Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2

Prepare the Bread

Cut the day-old bread into 1-inch cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.

3

Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Combining Ingredients

4

Combine Bread and Liquid Mixture

Pour the liquid mixture over the bread cubes. Gently fold to combine, ensuring all bread is soaked. Let it sit for 20 minutes.

5

Add Flavor Variations

After soaking, fold in your choice of dried fruits, chocolate chips, nuts, or fresh fruits, if desired.

Baking

6

Transfer to Baking Dish

Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Pour the soaked mixture into the dish and spread it evenly.

7

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Serving

8

Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm, optionally with a drizzle of caramel sauce or whipped cream.
