Preparation
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare the Bread
Cut the day-old bread into 1-inch cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.
Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Combine Bread and Liquid Mixture
Pour the liquid mixture over the bread cubes. Gently fold to combine, ensuring all bread is soaked. Let it sit for 20 minutes.

After soaking, fold in your choice of dried fruits, chocolate chips, nuts, or fresh fruits, if desired.
Baking
Transfer to Baking Dish
Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Pour the soaked mixture into the dish and spread it evenly.
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Serving
Cool and Serve
