Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Clams

Rinse the top neck clams under cold running water to remove any sand or grit. Scrub the shells with a brush to ensure they are clean.

  2. 2

    Chop the Garlic and Parsley

Peel and finely chop the garlic cloves. Rinse the parsley under water, shake off excess moisture, and chop it finely.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the clams.

  2. 4

    Prepare the Garlic Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped garlic, parsley, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly blended.

  3. 5

    Stuff the Clams

Open each clam shell and place a spoonful of the garlic mixture inside. If using, sprinkle breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese on top of the mixture in each clam.

  4. 6

    Bake the Clams

Arrange the stuffed clams on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the clams are fully cooked and the topping is golden brown.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate and Serve

Remove the baked clams from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Arrange on a platter and garnish with additional parsley if desired. Serve warm.
