Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and ground black pepper. Mix gently until combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Shape the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty about ¾ inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover the skillet or grill to melt the cheese.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burgers

Toast the hamburger buns if desired. Place each cheeseburger patty on the bottom half of a bun, then add ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.

French Fry Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the French Fries

Preheat the oven according to the package instructions for the French fries. Spread the frozen fries in a single layer on a baking sheet.

  2. 7

    Season the Fries

Drizzle the vegetable oil over the fries and sprinkle with salt. Toss to coat evenly.

  3. 8

    Bake the Fries

Bake the fries in the preheated oven for the time specified on the package, usually around 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through for even cooking.
