Cake Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F). Grease and flour four ramekins or small baking dishes.
- 2
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
- 3
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until the mixture is pale and slightly thickened.
- 4
- 5
Add Dry Ingredients
Sift in the all-purpose flour, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Gently fold the mixture until just combined; do not overmix.
- 6
Pour into Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 2/3 full.
- 7
Bake
Place the ramekins in the preheated oven and bake for about 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still soft.
- 8
Cool Slightly
Remove the ramekins from the oven and let them cool for 1-2 minutes before inverting onto dessert plates.
