Macaroni & Cheese Base

Method

Preparing the Macaroni & Cheese

  1. 1

    Cook the Macaroni

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 2 minutes, whisking constantly until it forms a roux.

  3. 3

    Add Milk

Gradually whisk in the milk, continuing to stir until the mixture is smooth and thickened, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 4

    Incorporate the Cheeses

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the shredded sharp cheddar and Gruyère cheeses until melted and creamy.

  5. 5

    Combine with Lobster

Fold in the cooked macaroni and chopped lobster meat. Season with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix until well combined.

Preparing the Bread Crumb Topping

  1. 6

    Mix the Topping

In a small bowl, combine the bread crumbs, white truffle oil, grated Parmesan cheese, and chopped parsley. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated.

Baking

  1. 7

    Assemble and Bake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the macaroni and cheese mixture into a greased baking dish. Evenly sprinkle the bread crumb topping over the macaroni and cheese.

  2. 8

    Bake Until Golden

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

  3. 9

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your homemade Lobster Mac & Cheese!
