Preparing the Bread

Slice the Bread
Cut the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.

Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet, brush both sides with olive oil, and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
Preparing the Topping

Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the fresh tomatoes and place them in a mixing bowl.

Add Basil and Garlic
Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and mince the garlic cloves. Add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.

Combine Ingredients
Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the tomato mixture. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
Assembling the Bruschetta

Top the Bread
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice of toasted bread.

Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and serve immediately.
