Method

Prepare the Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined to avoid overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, making sure they are slightly larger than the brioche buns to allow for shrinkage during cooking.

Cook the Patty

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Heat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese (Optional)

If using cheese, place a slice on each patty in the last minute of cooking and cover to melt.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 6

    Slice Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, wash and slice the tomato and onion. Tear the lettuce leaves if needed.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Toast the Buns

If desired, toast the brioche buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 8

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of the bun, place the lettuce, followed by the cooked patty, tomato slices, and onion slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
