Ingredients for Cheese Curds
Method
Instructions for Preparing Cheese Curds
- 1
Prepare the Batter
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add the beer, whisking until the batter is smooth and thick.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to ensure the right temperature.
- 3
Dip and Fry the Curds
Take the cheese curds and dip them into the beer batter, ensuring they are fully coated. Carefully drop the battered curds into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- 4
Cook Until Golden Brown
Fry the cheese curds for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- 5
Serve and Enjoy
Serve the fried cheese curds hot with your choice of dipping sauces.
