Turkey Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Turkey

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Rub the softened butter over the turkey, ensuring you cover it evenly. Season the turkey inside and out with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, rosemary, and thyme. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the bottom.

  2. 2

    Roast the Turkey

Roast the turkey in the preheated oven. Cooking time is approximately 13 minutes per pound. Baste occasionally with the drippings for even cooking.

Stuffing Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Stuffing

In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the chopped celery and onion, cooking until soft. In a large bowl, combine bread cubes, cooked vegetables, sage, salt, and pepper. Pour chicken broth over the mixture and stir until moistened. Stuff the turkey with the mixture or bake separately in a greased dish.

Side Dishes Preparation

  1. 4

    Green Beans

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Add the green beans and salt, sauté until tender.

  2. 5

    Mashed Potatoes

Boil potatoes in salted water until soft. Drain and return to the pot. Add butter, milk, and chives, mashing until creamy.

Gravy Preparation

  1. 6

    Make the Gravy

In a saucepan, combine turkey drippings and flour over medium heat, whisking until smooth. Gradually add chicken broth while whisking continuously until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper.

Dessert

  1. 7

    Serve the Pumpkin Pie

Slice the pumpkin pie and serve with whipped cream if desired.
