Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Generously season the NY Strip steak with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add the steak and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

French Fries Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips.

  2. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a deep fryer or large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 6

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  4. 7

    Season the Fries

While hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.
