Method

Preparing the Fried Chicken

  1. 1

    Marinate Chicken

In a bowl, soak the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator to tenderize and flavor the meat.

  2. 2

    Dredge Chicken

In a shallow dish, combine flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.

  3. 3

    Fry Chicken

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place the chicken into the skillet and fry for about 7-8 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

Cooking the Bacon

  1. 4

    Cook Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the bacon strips over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 5

    Prepare Salad Base

Chop the romaine lettuce and place it in a large salad bowl. Dice the tomatoes and avocado, and add them to the bowl.

  2. 6

    Prepare Eggs

Peel the hard-boiled eggs and slice them into quarters. Add them to the salad bowl.

  3. 7

    Add Chicken and Bacon

Slice the fried chicken into strips and add it to the salad. Crumble the cooked bacon and sprinkle it over the top.

  4. 8

    Finish with Blue Cheese

Sprinkle blue cheese crumbles over the salad. Toss lightly to combine all ingredients.
