Method
Cauliflower Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Cauliflower
Remove the leaves from the cauliflower and cut the head into bite-sized florets.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add water to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- 3
Coat the Cauliflower
Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, making sure they are well coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan or deep fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Cauliflower
Carefully add the battered cauliflower florets to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Buffalo Sauce
- 6
Prepare the Sauce
In a mixing bowl, combine the hot sauce, melted vegan butter, garlic powder, and vinegar (if using). Mix until well combined.
- 7
Toss the Cauliflower
In a large bowl, add the fried cauliflower and pour the buffalo sauce over them. Toss gently to coat all the florets evenly.
Dressing
- 8
Make the Dressing
In a bowl, mix together the vegan mayonnaise, lemon juice, dill, and garlic powder. Stir until well combined.
