Bristol Cole Slaw

Method

Preparing the Fish

  1. 1

    Marinate the Basa

In a bowl, combine olive oil, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Add the basa fillets and marinate for 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Grill or Fry the Basa

Preheat a grill or frying pan over medium heat. Cook the marinated basa fillets for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and flaky.

Preparing the Cole Slaw

  1. 3

    Shred the Vegetables

Finely shred the green cabbage and carrot using a grater or food processor.

  2. 4

    Mix the Cole Slaw

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and carrot. In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss to coat evenly. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 5

    Prepare the Sandwich

Toast the rye bread slices lightly if desired. On two slices of rye bread, layer lettuce leaves, cooked basa fillet, tomato slices, pickle slices, and tartar sauce. Top with the remaining slices of rye bread.
