Wonton Wrapped Deep Fried Pickles
Method
Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Pickles
Pat the pickle spears dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
- 2
Assemble the Wontons
Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place a slice of Swiss cheese in the center, followed by a pickle spear. Fold the edges of the wonton wrapper over to completely enclose the pickle and cheese, sealing with a bit of water if necessary.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Wontons
Carefully add the wrapped pickles to the hot oil in batches, taking care not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
- 5
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried wontons with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot with honey mustard and buttermilk ranch dressing on the side.
