Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Cook the Noodles

Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Spinach

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Add the fresh spinach and cook until wilted. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix the Cheeses

In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, half of the mozzarella, half of the Parmesan, and the cooked spinach. Mix well to combine.

  4. 4

    Layer the Lasagna

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Place three noodles on top, followed by half of the cheese mixture, then a layer of marinara sauce. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles and the remaining marinara sauce. Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

  5. 5

    Bake

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

  6. 6

    Serve

Let the lasagna cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
