Churro Dough Preparation

1. Boil Water and Butter

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

2. Add Flour

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

3. Incorporate Eggs

Let the dough cool for a few minutes, then add 2 large eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until well combined and smooth.

4. Heat Oil

In a deep pot, heat 4 cups of oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Frying Churros

5. Prepare Piping Bag

Transfer the churro dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.

6. Pipe Churros

Carefully pipe strips of dough (about 4-6 inches long) into the hot oil. Fry in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.

7. Fry Until Golden Brown

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown. Remove the churros with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

8. Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow bowl, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. Roll each churro in the sugar mixture while they are still warm.

Chocolate Sauce Preparation

9. Heat Cream

In a small saucepan, heat 1 cup of heavy cream over medium heat until it starts to simmer.

10. Add Chocolate Chips

Remove from heat and add 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Stir until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.

11. Add Vanilla and Sugar

Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons of sugar until well combined.
