Steak Marinade

Method

Marinating the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Grill or Sear the Steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill or sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired doneness. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  2. 4

    Slice the Steak

Slice the cooked steak against the grain into thin strips.

Assembling the Burrito

  1. 5

    Layer the Ingredients

On a large flour tortilla, layer 1/4 cup of black beans, 1/4 cup of cooked rice, 1/4 cup of pico de gallo, and 1/4 cup of shredded cheese.

  2. 6

    Add the Steak

Top the layers with sliced steak.

  3. 7

    Wrap the Burrito

Fold in the sides of the tortilla and then roll it up tightly from the bottom to enclose the filling.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve the Burritos

Serve the burritos warm, optionally with additional pico de gallo, sour cream, or guacamole on the side.
