1. Cook the Rice
In a pot, add 1 cup of rice with 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes or until the water is absorbed.
2. Prepare the Beans
If using canned black beans, rinse and drain them well. If using dried, soak and cook according to package instructions.
3. Cook the Protein
If using chicken, grill or sauté diced chicken breast until fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F). For ground beef, cook in a skillet until browned and cooked through.

Lay the large flour tortilla on a clean surface. Start layering: first the cooked rice, then black beans, followed by the protein of your choice (chicken or beef). Add cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and avocado.
6. Add Sauces
Spoon sour cream and salsa on top of the layered ingredients. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro and drizzle lime juice over the top. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
7. Wrap the Burrito
Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll it from the bottom up tightly. Ensure all fillings are secured inside.
