Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all the ingredients and cook the rice and beans if not using canned or pre-cooked. If using canned beans, rinse them under cold water to remove excess sodium.
Assembling the Burrito
- 2
Layer the Ingredients
On the center of the flour tortilla, sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Then add your choice of rice (either 1 cup of cooked white rice or 1 cup of cooked brown rice) and your choice of beans (either 1 cup of black beans or 1 cup of pinto beans).
- 3
Season the Filling
Sprinkle 1 tsp of cumin, and season with salt and black pepper to taste over the layered ingredients.
Wrapping the Burrito
- 4
Wrap the Burrito
Carefully fold the sides of the tortilla inwards over the filling, then roll the tortilla from the bottom to the top, ensuring the filling is tightly wrapped inside.
Serving
- 5
Serve
Cut the burrito in half if desired, and serve warm. Optionally, you can serve with salsa or guacamole on the side.
