Prepare the Beans
If using dried black beans, soak them overnight and rinse before cooking.

Combine Ingredients
Add the soaked black beans (or canned, drained beans), vegetable broth, cumin powder, and paprika to the pot. Stir well to combine.

Simmer
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours if using dried beans, or 20-30 minutes if using canned beans, until the beans are tender and flavors are well combined.

Season to Taste
Add salt and black pepper to taste. Stir in chopped fresh cilantro before serving.
